Miscellaneous Rules & Regulations

  1. The Competition Secretary and Committee may, at their discretion, exclude, include or reclassify a vehicle as required in the spirit of the competition/point score.
  2. If a competitor has a dispute with the classification of a vehicle, or if they wish their vehicle to be reclassified, they must make themselves available to the Competition Secretary and committee to put forward their case.
  3. If a competitor knowingly competes in a class for which their vehicle does not conform then their points accrued to that date will be forfeited.
  4. Fire extinguishers must have year of manufacture stamped on body. All competing cars must have a fire extinguisher as per CAMS Manual of Motorsport 2007. (ie 3 years for racing / 6 years for road registered cars only as per manual)
  5. Seat belts or harnesses must have appropriate labelling showing approval markings for that particular belt or harness. Refer to CAMS Manual of Motorsport.
  6. A Competition Log Book (provided by AROCA Qld) for each car competing must be kept up to date by the owner/driver re, modifications carried out.
  7. Competitors must notify Competition Secretary of any mechanical changes/modifications and present Log Book for notation.
  8. Points will be awarded in each class with every competitor scoring according to the number of ALFACOMP competitors in their class.(Eg. 6 in class in event, winner scores 6 points 2nd 5 points 3rd 4 points etc. Other class has 3 in class winner scores 3 points 2nd 2points 3rd 1 point. etc for all classes)
  9. Class Winners - All classes will have Class Winners for the year's competition. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded.
  10. Competition Champion Award - Highest points scorer over 12 events from ALFACOMP calendar awarded overall Competition Champion. The philosophy is that the greater number of competitors in the class, the harder it is to win and all classes can provide the Champion.
  11. Regularity Award will be contested at QR SAS events in 2007. The award will be based on the very affordable and enjoyable QLD RACEWAY Saturday Afternoon Sprints Series of 8 events plus AROCA's Team Regularity events (2). The aim of this award is for newcomers with any Alfa Romeo car, road or race, to have equal opportunities and gain racetrack experience. Regularity scoring will be by the time of your slowest lap minus your fastest lap of the day. The gap in seconds / parts of a second will be your score for the day (eg 69.50 sec slowest lap minus 68.20 sec fastest lap equals 1.3 sec gap) Each competitor's Regularity score for every meeting attended is on the basis all drivers scoring points i.e. if 12 competitors then 12points =1st place 11pts =2nd etc down to 1point for12th. If four cars competing on the day score will be 4 pts =1st place 3pts =2nd etc. A Bonus Regularity point will be awarded to any driver who sets a faster time than their previous best on the day.
  12. Novice Award for best pointscore overall for the novice drivers. That is for drivers in the first full year of Alfacomp.
